philterkeyz [Resonant filter] by scuzzphut
VSTWin added 17/06/2003

philterkeyz is a resonant filter plugin with a difference.
Filter cutoff is controlled by midi notes and the cutoff frequency is calculated to match the frequency of each note.
Try inserting it after a vsti playing a riff. Feed that same riff to the plugin and the filter provides an added dimension. Alternatively, try inserting it after a long sweeping pad sound, then routing your midi keyboard to philterkeyz. Raise the resonance and you can play a filter line over the top of the pad.
LinkFilter [Side Filter] by Concretefx
VSTWin added 14/03/2003

LinkFilter is an effect that uses the volume of one stereo channel to control the frequency of a filter that filters the other stereo channel. It can be used as an auto-wah or if you can send two sounds to the same effect then one sound can be used to filter the other, for instance a drum-loop can be used to filter a pad.
WaveThresh [Spectral Thresholding] by Jez Wells
VSTWin added 13/03/2003

Spectral thresholding is the process of dividing an input signal up into frequency bands (spectral), removing (or reducing) those components that lie above or below a certain level (thresholding) and then constructing the output signal from these modified spectral components.
WaveThresh is designed to be a creative sound processing tool offering unusual filtering and distortion effects. WaveThresh offers two types of analysis technique to obtain a spectral description of the input sound, Fourier and wavelet analysis...
Breather [Sweeping Filter] by Tiny God
VSTWin added 02/02/2003

Breather is a cyclic sweeping filter effect, useful for adding unpredictably swooshy noises to your compositions.
Features: 1 to 4 active variable-cutoff resonant filters. Tempo selectable from 1 to 250 BPM. Filter frequency sweep range adjustable from 20Hz to 10KHz. Filter sweep pattern repeats from 1 to 64 times, randomizing after the specified number of repeats...
dfx rezsynth [MIDI Triggered Resonant Filter] by Super Destroy FX
VSTWinMacAudio Unit added 05/11/2001

Rez Synth allows you to "play" bandpass resonant filter banks that process your sound. In the right hosts, MIDI notes can trigger individual filters or banks of filters (up to 30 per note) with controllable frequency separation.
Nolv Lowpass [Low-Pass Filter] by Nolv
DirectX added 05/11/2001

A simple, extremely low-cpu use, low pass filter with two settings : Frequency and QFactor...
Whix [Filter/Waveshaper] by Jonas Norberg
VSTWinMac added 21/11/2001

Whix is made up from five simple pieces in a chain. Lowpass filter-Gain-Wave shaper (sine function)-Lowpass filter-Gain. You can control the cutoff of the filters and the gain. The cutoff is not entered in Hz but as number between 0.0 and 1.0 where 1.0 means that everything gets through and 0.0 means that nothing gets through. The gain is entered as dB as usual. The dB number may look high, but remember that the preceeding filter makes the signal more quiet. The windows version has some extra functionality, an envelope follower that adjust the output volume to match the input volume. (If the input is quiet, it does not output noise). Whix produces aliasing noise. So handle width care.
Frohmage [Multi-Band Resonant Filter] by Ohmforce
VSTWinMacDirectXAudio Unit added 20/11/2001

A multi-band resonant filter. This plug-in can offer some unique sounds, from slow and deep filter sweeps to the most savage tones with high resonance setting and heavy distortion. Musical use is one of the points : you can easily tune the filter to be in resonance with particular notes in your music. The harmonic multi-band feature helps you to warm up the sound. All filter bands can be delayed with only one knob, giving nice phaser effects or weird gliding echos. The final distortion stage smoothly overdrives the sound to make it really fat and analog-like. Two distortion schemes can be selected to get a screaming beast or a powerful and warm sound. Low CPU load...
Square Filter [Resonant Filter] by Square Circle
VSTWinMac added 05/11/2001

This is our first VST plugin, so any comments will be welcome. Basically consisting of 4 selectable resonant filters (1 18db/oct, 3 24 db/oct) and a distortion control, this filter is extremely useful for dirtying up your sounds! It's still beta at the moment, and a full graphic interface will be added soon, but it's still very useful. Try turning the distortion and resonance up, and the filter right down... It's also available for the Apple Mac!
NorthPole [Resonant Filter] by Prosoniq
VSTWinMac added 05/11/2001

A fully programmable resonant filter. In short, you can send any of your VST/WaveLab tracks through this 'virtual analog' device to either create special effects or to simulate the behaviour of an analog 4-pole filter. It has the following specifications : 24dB/Octave (4 pole) Low Pass and Band Pass Filter, variable Cutoff + Resonance, Lowpass/Bandpass switchable, Envelope Follower with adjustable sensitivity, Envelope attack/release times, Adjustable distortion, Adjustable digital delay after filter with time, mix and feedback parameters.
